Connor Moucka, a 26-year-old man from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, has admitted guilt in U.S. federal court after being found primarily responsible for the massive Snowflake cloud storage hack, which impacted 165 large-scale companies such as AT&T, Ticketmaster, and Santander Bank. As per court documents, Moucka along with his accomplices committed extortion amounting to millions of dollars worth of bitcoins and attempted to sell the compromised information of consumers and corporations, resulting in total losses of more than $9.5 million. Connor Moucka faces a mandatory minimum sentence of two years up to a maximum of 30 years for computer fraud, wire fraud, and identity theft crimes and will be sentenced on October 27.
